The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Kids Count Data Center http://www.kidscount.org links data from the Census Bureau and other sources to create profiles of communities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as of counties, Congressional districts, cities and other areas. Data are updated and expanded as they become available.
This worksheet below suggests ways that information in the Kids Count Data Center can help you create a community portrait of conditions for children, the education system, the need for services, and employment patterns.
This tool is available in two forms:
An Excel spreadsheet, which you can edit to make even more relevant to your community and then complete on the computer
A pdf file that you can print out and distribute to the team working on this topic
